Researcher on European energy poverty

The For the People foundation, with the help of our member Vasemmistofoorumi ry (The Left Forum), is seeking a researcher to investigate the energy crisis, the relationship between fossil fuel dependency and the cost-of-living crisis, and energy poverty from a European perspective. The published text can be written in either Finnish and English. The project aims to contribute to public debate from a left-wing perspective and compile proposed solutions from Europe. The details of the assignment will be further defined at the start of the position.

Start date

September 1st (or as agreed), with completion by the end of 2026.

Requirements

Excellent proficiency in Finnish and English; knowledge of other languages is considered an asset.

  • A curriculum vitae (CV)
  • A salary expectation
  • A brief description (maximum one page) of the applicant’s expertise regarding the energy crisis and energy poverty, including which aspects should be taken into account in the study.
  • The application should also discuss how the study will be published and integrated into public debate, as well as how it benefits the political left.
