About

As we enter 2026, the global landscape is defined by a paradoxical crisis. While technological and ecological transitions should be offering a path to a sustainable future, the resurgence of authoritarianism and the erosion of social safety nets threaten to leave millions behind. The rise of “Ur-Fascism”—fueled by economic insecurity and the concentration of digital power—demands more than just passive resistance; it requires a proactive, systemic alternative.

Sovereignty, Social Justice, and Action ground the belief that democracy cannot survive without a material foundation of dignity. The rationale for this event is three-fold:

  1. Economic stabilization as defense: to counter the “politics of resentment,” we must implement what Isabella Weber calls “Antifascist Economics”—stabilizing essential prices (food, energy, housing) to remove the economic oxygen that feeds far-right populism;
  2. Strategic autonomy: True sovereignty in the 21st century is both digital and ecological. We must reclaim the “digital stack” from corporate monopolies and transition toward ecological planning that prioritizes human needs over profit;
  3. Transnational Solidarity: the fight against autocracy is global.

This event highlights one of the  For The People Foundation main objectives: to bridge the gap between high-level policy theory and grassroots mobilization.
